Week 4, Day 6(Funding)
Soooooooo, as it turns out I was dropped from my classes because my funding didn't go through. The earliest appointment I could get with my counselor is next Tuesday which is a little later than I like but that's how it goes. Meanwhile I am going to be watching the class videos and just keeping up with as much class work as I can. A lot of it I wont be able to submit due to my canvas access being cut off but hopefully I can work something out with my teachers later.
Week 3, Day 5(Vacation)
This is an interesting week to be doing homework since I'm in Belize. One thing I have discovered is that Belize has a horrible internet structure and my connection is horrible at best (reminds me of dial-up). I managed to get online and start working on my video assignment on an IPad. Since the internet here is unreliable it took me a long time to watch the videos but at least I had ample time to answer the questions while waiting for the videos to buffer/load. Shortly after finishing my assignment I noticed that I can no longer log into canvas and see my classes. After some research I learned that I had been dropped from all my classes (whoopie!). I've emailed my instructors and my financial aid counselor to see what's going on but I doubt I can resolve this completely from Belize. Hopefully this can get resolved quickly so I can get back to classes.

Week 2, Day 4(Crunch Time)
Since I will be in Belize in uncertain internet coverage(as well as having little motivation for school while on vacation) I need to get as much done today as I can! Thus, I'm back in class and excited to do some exercises. We got to learn how to use if statements within php, which turned out to be nearly identical to how they work/look in every other programming language. I'm actually excited that we've gotten into variables and conditionals since it gives me a lot more to play with. I may have to go back to the website I made in web110 and start adding my own php to it (as opposed to the php I borrowed previously).
P.S. Here's the page we made which tells you if it's AM/PM and has a bit of formatting

Week 2, Day 3(Moving Along)
My step dad and sister got in a car accident today so I decided to help them out and make use of the online resources(class videos and class website) so that I could skip class to help them out. As I took my first quiz I realized that I had read over most of the information but didn't have too much trouble finding anything I didn't know through the class website. The next order of business was finally setting up a Lynda.com account (my unemployment money was in a state of limbo and I couldn't afford even the meager $25 until today). The first video assignment went well and, while broad, was fairly enlightening. Now I'm going to leave you all and watch today's class video if it has been uploaded... bye!
Week 1, Day 2(A bit of clarity)
We were introduced to Lynda today which is an online learning service for watching videos and answering questions. The unfortunate part is that it costs money that I wont have until after the weekend which will limit the amount of time I have to get the first assignment done. On the brighter side of things we messed around with some very basic PHP and saw how it interacts with html and CSS. So far there are a lot of things due but the class doesn't seem overwhelming, hopefully it stays that way so I can get ahead the next week since I'll be missing for week 3.
Week 1, Day 1(Introduction)
I received a lot of information on what this class will entail. It sounds like there will be a lot of assignments and hands on, in class work, which is fine by me since I learn best by doing. Looks like I will be using my Google Drive extensively and will get an opportunity to possibly add more features to the website I built in web 110 as the class progresses. One issue I did have today is that I feel the due dates and what needs to be turned in for assignments/quizzes wasn't very clear but hopefully I'll figure it out as we move along.
